Pattern: Katherine’s Petticoat Instructions, but I cut off the top edge of folded over fabric and encased the resulting raw edge in the tape waistband
Fabric and Materials: Striped silk organza, linen tape for the waistband, Gutermann cotton thread
Notes: Made in summer 2011. The stripes on the silk fabric run perpendicular to the selvedge, so I used the full width of the fabric and turned it sideways to form the panels of the petticoat. No hem needed, then, as the side selvedge became the bottom edge of the petticoat.
