In September, we celebrated Stephanie’s birthday with a tea at Green Spring Gardens. The park has a house dating to 1784 that is an event and exhibit space today. At Stephanie’s request, everyone wore late 18th century chemise gowns or variations of chemise gowns. We had a lot of beautiful floof!
After the tea, we took some photos in the park. It was so humid that I had to wait a bit for my lens to acclimate and defog! But once it did, I was able to get some nice shots. I’m quite pleased with several of these.
Our lovely hostess, Stephanie
After the tea, we went to Stephanie’s house to socialize some more. We also got a group photo there. My dress was made by Vivien. I had fallen behind on my sewing deadlines, and I was not sure I had enough time to make a chemise gown for this party. But then Vivien posted this lovely dress for sale, and we happen to be similar sizes, so problem solved!
What a lovely way to celebrate a friend’s birthday!
