Other Photo Shoots at PAX East 2018

In addition to our many Catwoman photo shoots at PAX East, we also did pictures of a few other costumes. On Friday, Mike wore his Garfield the Deals Warlock cosplay again, so I got photos of that. Then on Saturday we had the pleasure of shooting with our friend Liz of Goodbye Midnight Cosplay in her Witcher/Star Wars mashup. Finally on Sunday we reprised our My Little Bruins costumes.

Friday
We were in a bit of a rush on Friday, so I did not get a lot of photos of Mike in his Garfield the Deals Warlock. (Garfield is a character in The Adventure Zone podcast.) I was also in the process of learning how to use our new camera. Despite these logistical challenges, I’m quite happy with how the photos came out.

Don’t worry, it’s fake money.

Saturday
We met Liz at our favorite spot, the concrete wall. We had to camp out there for a bit to make sure we had that area, since other people had been sitting there earlier. But it worked out!

Here you can see how narrow that concrete wall actually is. It’s just a small decorative part that juts out a bit.

Liz’s costume is a combination of Ciri from Witcher and Rey from The Force Awakens. She nailed it!

In these photos we were trying to imitate the Rey character poster that was used to tease The Force Awakens.

Then we went upstairs to try to get some photos near the larger windows on the third floor, but got usurped by a giant League of Legends cosplay meetup. So we made the best of it in a tight space.

It’s always fun to shoot with Liz. I hope we’ll do it again soon!

Sunday
On Sunday we wore our My Little Bruins costumes. (These are based on super cute artwork by Ali Lawrence.) It seemed appropriate during the hockey season, with PAX East being in Boston. Also, they’re very easy costumes to wear, which is great for the Sunday of a four-day con.

Mike already had this Bruins hat with him because it was cold. But it kept his pony ears in place, so that turned out to be fortuitous.

Later we enlisted our friends Jeremy and Jenn to take a photo of me and Mike. Here Jeremy was standing in for Mike while Mike framed the shot. These expressions are priceless.

Then Jenn actually took the photo. Mike had switched out his beanie for a baseball cap.

At the end of the day we took a couple more photos in our favorite spot.

And that’s it for PAX East! Can’t wait until next year!
