18th C Style Queen Ann Necklace (and Earrings)

Yay, I finished something new for a short trip to Williamsburg next week! I haven’t had the time to really dedicate myself to a sewing project, so something smaller had to suffice.

I have been working on and off on this piece for quite a while (like over a year a while). It took me a bit to figure out how to make the pendant, and then to get the right materials for the rest of the necklace. But this morning I finished!

Here is the necklace next to an inspiration painting, a portrait of Anne Fairchild Bowler by John Singleton Copley, c.1763. The pendant, with the cluster of three rhinestones and the center hanging rhinestone is sometimes called the “Queen Anne” style.
