1880s Extant Garments

I impulse bought some pieces recently on ebay. I wasn’t sure of the dating of these (my specialty being regency and not late victorian), but Katherine confirmed my suspicions that they’re 1880s bustle era.

Here is the first one (also came with a very tattered skirt):

Besides the stuff I bought on ebay, I also bought this bustle bodice on etsy. The seller dated it as c. 1888. It’s made out of a lovely silk brocade. The only issues it has in condition are that the buttons are missing, and there is some splitting under the arms. I was really impressed with the condition overall.
